2010 Teen Retreat

Yancey County 4-Her’s attended the West District 4-H Teen Retreat at Camp Bob in Henderson County on March 5-6. This year’s theme was “We Are 4-H: Then, Now and Forever.” Over one hundred youth from the western district joined together to participate in educational workshops and elect officers for the upcoming year. Yancey County had 13 participants representing Mountain Heritage High School, Cane River and East Yancey Middle Schools and homeschoolers. Joshua Black, West District 4-H Council Vice President helped preside over the meetings at the event with his three fellow officers. Participants at 4-H Teen Retreat took workshops focusing on leadership, citizenship and the sciences. They also elected officers that will be installed this coming July at 4-H Congress in Raleigh. Coy Tschudy, from MHHS was elected as next year’s incoming West District 4-H Council Reporter.
