Hungry to help

4-H’ers take action to stop the hidden health problem of hunger.  Yancey County 4-H and all other branches of Yancey extension have joined the “Hungry to Help” campaign.  We are collecting canned goods from the classrooms, clubs and afterschools.   Professor Popcorn, Jo Simpson, has collected  canned goods from the youth in the elementary schools as a part of EFNEP(Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program).  The Bald Creek and Bee Log Afterschool sites along with the Discovery Clubs make a collection each month.  The extension office has a box for staff and general public to donate.  All these donations will go to the Reconciliation House as we help the hungry in Yancey County.
