Plants Still Available at Cooperative Extension

2013 Plant Sale

The Yancey County Cooperative Extension Service plant sale is almost finished for the 2013 season.  We still have some heirloom apple trees, Niagra grapes, some strawberries, blackberries and red raspberries.  

Call or come by the Cooperative Extension Center located at 10 Orchard Drive during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday) to see what is still available.  The form is available to download either in a PDF Document or a Word Document.  Click on Descriptions to see apple tree description.  

♦  Red Raspberry plants — $2.00 each.

 Blackberry plants (thornless) — $3.00 each.

♦   Grapes:  Concord (Purple grapes); Niagra (white grapes — $5.00 each.

 Heirloom Apple Tree Varieties — $18.00 per tree.  Varieties are:  Red Sheepnose, Yellow Bellflower, Carolina Red June, Virginia Beauty, YellowJune/Early Transparent,  McIntosh, Sweet Russet (2), Grimes Golden, Hopple’s Antique Gold (1), Hawkeye (Red Delicious).  Modern Varieties: Big Red Gala, Cortland and Goldrush.
