4-H Put It UP! Youth Food Preservation Camp

June 27, 28 & 29

* Ages 9 – 14  * 9 AM – 2 PM  * Cost: $5.00   * Limit 10

From farm to table, join us for this three-day journey into learning and exploring the art and science of home food preservation. At this hands-on camp, youth will learn how to make homemade jams, dehydrate fruits and veggies, pressure can green beans and much more. Youth will also learn about local foods and healthy choices. So roll up your sleeves and let’s start cookin’!

Fairly Crafty!

July 21st

* Ages 9 – 14 * 9 AM – 3 PM  * Cost: $3.00 and bring your own shoebox. * Limit 10

Youth will gain artistic skills while creating specialized items to be entered in the WNC Mountain State Fair September 9-18, 2016. They will receive instructions to make a Shoebox Float and assorted crafts to enter into competition. We will help them fill out entry forms so their items can be sent on the fair’s Pony Express in August.

Greet the Future! Career Day Camp

* Ages 9 – 14 * 9 AM – 3 PM * Cost: $5.00  * Limit 10

In this fast paced world finding your niche in the job market is not an easy task. At this hands-on camp, youth will learn the principals of entrepreneurism and how to choose a career in a fun and supportive environment!
