Jo Simpson Receives Outstanding Performance Award
JO SIMPSON RECEIVES OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AWARD
Congratulations to Jo Simpson who was awarded a Cooperative Extension Outstanding Performance Award at the May 14-17, Cooperative Extension Nutrition Assistants’ Tri-State Conference in Raleigh. Jo’s efforts in delivering 4-H EFNEP are largely responsible for making healthy eating the ‘in’ thing to do in Yancey County Schools. Jo has created a ‘make wise choices’ mentality that will remain an integral part of the children’s eating habits forever.
To be eligible for an Outstanding Performance Award, the nutrition program assistant must be one who sees beyond the reality to the possibility. These individuals propel the program to the highest level exceeding their workload targets and impact goals and have firmly established collaborative relationships with multiple agencies within their county. Their teaching techniques and ability makes EFNEP fun and inviting. Jo exemplifies these qualities and enjoys presenting the 4-H EFNEP nutrition program to the Yancey County students.
Jo was also recognized for five years of continued service with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service and was presented with her five year service award during the State Meeting on Thursday.
