Join us for a hands-on summer series to learn the basics of safe home canning! Whether you’re brand new or need a refresher, this two-part class format will guide you through both water bath and pressure canning methods, with time to ask questions, get hands-on experience, and take home supplies.

This class series is a joint effort between Yancey and Mitchell County Cooperative Extension, in partnership with North Toe Traditions, a ministry of Green Mountain Presbyterian Church, and Christina Robinson, Mitchell County’s Family & Consumer Sciences Agent.

Together, we’re working to enhance food access and self-sufficiency in our communities following the impact of Hurricane Helene. North Toe Traditions recognizes that the damage to homes and farmlands will take years to fully recover from—and that faith, food, and seed are essential tools in that recovery. We at Extension are grateful to be a small part of this effort.
