N.C. Cooperative Extension of Yancey, Madison, Mitchell, and Avery Counties are coming together to host a sheep and goat production update. This meeting will be great for commercial sheep and goat producers, homesteaders, parents and youth interested in completing a 4-H or FFA sheep or goat project, or anyone else that just wants to learn more about raising sheep and goats using recommended production practices. Topics for this upcoming production update include nutritional management specifically related to supplement and hay feeding (presented by NC State Small Ruminant Extension Specialist Andrew Weaver), and parasite management (presented by Dr. Beverly Hargus, DVM with Animals-R-Us Vet Services).

The update will take place on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Yancey County Senior Center. The Yancey County Senior Center is located at 503 Medical Campus Drive in Burnsville, NC. Registration is not required to attend but encouraged.
