N.C. Cooperative Extension of Yancey County is in the process of planning selections for the 2024 Annual Plant Sale. This year we hope to once again have a great selection of apple trees, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries and much more available for purchase. It will be time to place orders before you know it! We plan to begin taking orders in late January or early February as we are able to confirm varieties and prices for this year’s sale.

Don’t want to miss out on this year’s sale? Here are a few things that you can do to make sure you don’t miss out:

  • Contact us to be added to our plant sale email or mailing list. We usually send out order forms to those that have purchased plants in recent years, or that specifically request to be notified about the plant sale.
  • Make sure that you are receiving they N.C. Cooperative Extension-Yancey County Home and Consumer Horticulture Newsletter. We will announce the plant sale and our spring home gardening classes there!
  • Attend the home orchard and home gardening classes that we will be conducting later this spring. We are planning several different classes that will focus on how to grow strawberries, blueberries, apples, and vegetables in a home garden or home landscape setting. We will announce these classes in our Home and Consumer Horticulture Newsletter.

If you would like to be added to our plant sale notification mailing list, would like to subscribe to our newsletter, or if you have any questions about the plant sale please send an email to David Davis (david_davis@ncsu.edu) or call the N.C. Cooperative Extension–Yancey County Center at 828.682.6186
