Does your child enjoy building things, solving problems and working with computers? If so, our new Yancey County 4-H Robotics Team is the perfect fit for them!

Goals: To learn about robotics, programming and engineering principles. This teaches valuable problem solving skills, teamwork and learning about career options.

We are using the VEX Robotics system and aim to participate in competitions starting in the fall of 2024.

Member Requirements: At this time the Robotics Team is limited to 10 members, aged 11 or above.

Meeting Times: Meetings will initially be once per month while we are learning the basics. As we get closer to competition we will meet twice per month. With meetings being more often just prior to competition. Members will be expected to participate in competition. Member attendance & participation is critical for success.

Format: We will be working in small groups to solve problems and compete against teams within the group. The majority of the work will be with a partner or small group. New projects will build on previous projects. It is encouraged that individuals research and look for solutions to problems between meetings.

Presentation/ Project Books: Each club member is required to participate in EITHER Presentation OR Project Book each year.
