Research Based Information:

Today, information is available, literally at our fingertips. Internet based search engines can generate long lists of resources to help answer questions, or address problems with just a few key words. However, what information is really relative? How much is presented as “fact” but is really more a matter of “opinion”? N.C. Cooperative Extension, Yancey County assist county residents by serving as a resource of relevant, unbiased, and research based information. We are here because we want to serve Yancey County residents.

One of the strengths of the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Yancey County Center Agriculture Programs is that our staff come ready to listen. We aren’t just familiar with the area, but we also live in it. We can have feet on the ground at the farm when needed to address agricultural production problems and issues. N.C. Cooperative Extension includes our two lang-grant universities, NC State University, University of North Carolina A&T. It is also made up of a network of researchers, extension specialists, and other professionals that can be of assistance to our clientele.
